GET QUALIFIED

Before you become a professional linguist, there are a few qualifications you must have before you can take on jobs. This is the same for all professional interpreting and translation. See below two of the main types of courses you can complete.

COMMUNITY INTERPRETING

The course is an ideal opportunity for bilingual candidates who wish to pursue a career in Interpreting or gain an industry recognised qualification in the subject area. The course is nationally recognised qualification and will enable bilingual interpreters to work as a community interpreter in their local or wider community.

On completion of any of the Levels in Community Interpreting an accreditation is given meaning you will be given a qualification which is validated by an external examination board.

DPSI

The DPSI course is designed for Freelance Professional Interpreters to develop their skills to a higher level which in the long run enables the candidate to take on more complicated and varied interpreting work, such as Law and Government work. The focus of the course will be to tackle grey areas of ethical and professional issues that you will face as an Interpreter or Translator.

The course will cover the development of the language of legislation and regulations for equal access to public services irrespective of language and culture.
