As the need for Slovak-speaking interpreters is rising, we are continuously accepting applications from qualified interpreters.

About the Role
As a Slovak Interpreter in Doncaster, you will assist with communication between service users and professionals across multiple sectors, helping conversations run smoothly and accurately.
Interpreting services are regularly required within major NHS organizations across the region, including:
- The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust
- Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Social services and safeguarding teams
Meetings are commonly available across South Yorkshire within healthcare, legal, education, and community support sectors.

What you’ll be doing (Scope of Work)
As a Slovak Interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication during meetings, consultations, and appointments across various sectors. Your duties may include:
- Delivering professional interpretation in healthcare, legal, housing, education, and public service settings
- Providing interpreting support via face-to-face, telephone, and video sessions
- Managing confidential and sensitive information with professionalism
- Supporting clients and professionals in complex or emotionally sensitive situations
- Ensuring effective communication while respecting cultural and linguistic differences
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Fluency in Slovak and English
- Relevant interpreting qualifications such as DPSI, CI or NRPSI (preferred)
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Two professional references and an up-to-date CV
- Valid proof of identity
- Previous experience in healthcare, housing or public sector interpretation is an advantage
Please note: This is a self-employed position. You must manage your own HMRC registration and National Insurance.
