We are continuously recruiting Hungarian interpreters in Sheffield to support clients across the NHS, local authorities and private organisations. Due to ongoing demand, there is a consistent need for qualified Hungarian-speaking interpreters. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

About the Role

As a Hungarian Interpreter in Sheffield, you will support communication between service users and professionals across public and private sectors in real-time settings. 

Interpreting support is frequently required within major NHS organisations in the city, including Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, as well as within wider healthcare and community services. 

Local authority interpreting is also regularly required through Sheffield City Council, along with support across education, social care, and public service departments. There is ongoing demand within South Yorkshire’s immigration and asylum services, as well as frequent interpreting assignments in legal settings, including courts across the region.

We are also interested in applications from British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, including RSLIs and TSLIs.

What you’ll be doing (Scope of Work)

As a Hungarian Interpreter, your responsibilities will include:

• Provide accurate interpretation across healthcare, legal, and educational sectors 
• Deliver services through face-to-face, video, and telephone appointments 
• Maintaining strict confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Supporting clients and professionals in sensitive or complex situations
• Ensuring clear communication while respecting cultural nuances and differences

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Fluency in Hungarian and English
• Relevant interpreting qualifications such as DPSI, CI or NRPSI (preferred)
• Enhanced DBS certificate
• Two professional references and an up-to-date CV
• Valid proof of identity
• Previous experience in healthcare, legal or educational interpreting is an advantage

Please note: This is a self-employed position. You must manage your own HMRC registration and National Insurance.
