Kurdish Interpreter Jobs in Sheffield

We are continuously hiring Kurdish interpreters in Sheffield to support our clients across the NHS, local authorities, and private organizations. There is a high need for Kurdish-speaking interpreters. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

About the Role

The Kurdish speaking community in Sheffield is really established and often requires specialized linguistic support to navigate essential UK services. As a Kurdish Sorani Interpreter in Sheffield, you will support communication between users and professionals across public and private sectors.  

Kurdish interpreting support is frequently required within major NHS organizations, including: 

  • Southwest Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust 
  • Sheffield Teaching Hospitals,  
  • City Council 
  • Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust 

as well as within wider healthcare and community clinics. 

There is ongoing demand within South Yorkshire’s immigration and asylum services, as well as frequent interpreting assignments in legal settings, including courts across the region. We also have jobs open for British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, including RSLIs and TSLIs.  

We are actively seeking British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, including registered and trainee interpreters to join our network.

What you’ll be doing (Scope of Work)

As a Kurdish Interpreter your responsibilities may include:  

  • Interpretation for different sectors like:medical, legal or technical. 
  • Etiquettes and rules of the interpretation meetings 
  • Delivering services through F2F, Remote or on-demand interpretation 
  • Punctuality, confidentiality and other factors being the priority 
  • Supporting client and professionals during situations in the meeting 

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Fluency in Kurdish and English 
  • Relevant interpreting qualifications such as DPSI, CI or NRPSI (preferred) 
  • Enhanced DBS certificate 
  • Two professional references and an up-to-date CV 
  • Valid proof of identity 
  • Previous experience in healthcare, legal or educational interpreting is an advantage 

Please note: This is a self-employed position. You must manage your own HMRC registration and National Insurance.
