About the Role
As a Slovak Interpreter in Sheffield, you will support communication between users and professionals across public and private sectors in daily-life.
Interpreting support is required within major NHS organizations, including:
- Sheffield NHS Foundation Trust
- Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
- Sheffield City Council
as well as within wider healthcare and community services.
Slovak interpreters are in high demand across the UK’s essential local services, specifically within the Home Office for immigration and asylum interviews, as well as the legal settings, including HM Courts and Tribunals Service

What you’ll be doing (Scope of Work)
As a Slovak Interpreter, you have to help our clients with the language barrier in any professional meeting. Your responsibilities may include:
- Provide interpreting services in different sectors as: medical, legal or technical.
- Fulfill professional requirements or etiquettes of the meetings.
- Delivering services through F2F, Remote or on-demand interpretation
- Be punctual and maintain the confidentiality of the meeting
- Supporting client and professionals during situations in the meeting
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Fluency in Slovak and English
- Relevant interpreting qualifications such as DPSI, CI or NRPSI (preferred)
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Two professional references and an up-to-date CV
- Valid proof of identity
- Previous experience in healthcare, legal or educational interpreting is an advantage
Please note: This is a self-employed position. You must manage your own HMRC registration and National Insurance.
